I must admit that when I woke up this morning, the last thing on my mind was writing a Cool Beans Blog about controlling a touchscreen with a sausage, but here we are. It just goes to show that the world truly is a strange and wondrous place.
I was viewing a YouTube video on the use of quantum computing to simulate new and esoteric materials—as you do—when I noticed a video suggestion titled Explaining how a touchscreen works with a sausage | The Secret Genius of Modern Life – BBC.
I was going to say that it makes me wonder how the YouTube video suggestion algorithm makes its decisions. But then I realized that the algorithm enticed me to watch the video and post this blog. It’s obviously performing its function, so kudos to its creators.
The video itself is actually jolly interesting. Also of interest are the associated comments. What say you? Do you have any like-minded videos you’d care to share with the rest of us?

Someone just sent me a message on LinkedIn pointing me at a cool snippet showing how to use a smartphone to check for good/bad fuses: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/2EJU_UQFhmw?feature=share
That way of testing fuses is REALLY clever! I’ll definitely add that to my bag of tricks!
I learn something new every day 🙂
That’s the wurst idea I’ve ever seen…..
Frankly, I thought it was a banger of an idea…
(Waits for applause…. not a sausage….)
I thought it was a sizzler 🙂
