AI has been much on my mind recently. If you haven’t already seen them, you might want to peruse and ponder columns like Are You Conversing with a Human or an AI? and New Agentic AI Engine Takes the Reins on Marketing Campaigns.
You may also be interested in my meandering musings in Is It Better to Live with AI Running Amok? and its counterpart, Is It Better to Live without AI at All?
The reason for my waffling here (as if I needed a reason) in that my friend Jay Dowling just sent me the links to two very interesting videos: Why AI Agents Are either the Best or Worst Thing We’ve Ever Built and MIT Explains the 12 Possible Endings for AI.
Suffice it to say that if you aren’t scared before you watch these videos, you will be after you’ve seen them. All of which makes me wonder if the Rentahuman website, which bills itself as “The meatspace layer for AI” and prompts you to “Rent a human when you need someone in the real world” is but a foretaste of things to come.
