On the off chance this is your first visit to the Cool Beans Blog, restricting himself to only 19 instructions a day, my chum John is building a LEGO Ultimate Collector Series version of the A-Wing Starfighter from Star Wars: Return of the Jedi.

Accompanying today’s image from John was a note saying: “This was a satisfying day in which we started on LEGO parts Bag 2 of 11, which produced a slightly more recognizable piece. At the front is a block that was constructed separately and then inserted. The two small rectangular pieces are where the pilot sits with his or her feet resting on the black ribbed pieces in front. I also constructed the frame at the back of the jet, which has left a sizeable void.”
John also followed up on my musings in the Day 3 column as to whether it would be possible to fit a real A-Wing Starfighter in a standard three-car garage by noting that the length, width, and height of the fighter are 9.6, 4.6, and 2.0 meters, respectively.
Well, according to Danley’s Garage World, three-car garages are usually 32 feet wide by 22 feet deep. Since 9.6 meters is 31.5 feet, this means we could squeeze our fighter in with six inches to spare, so that’s a weight off (what I laughingly call) my mind.
Good Grief! No sooner had I posted my Day 3 column than I realized we were already 10% of the way through the build. I tell you; it seems like every time I blink another day has slipped by.
Actually, time is much on my mind at the moment. I just used the Cool Beans Blog’s recently installed search facility to look for the keyword “Time.” I was hoping to track down my Is Time Truly an Illusion? column but I also discovered a bunch of other time-related content, including My Countdown Timer is Alive, The Times They Are a-Changin’, Mega-Cool Interactive Time Map, and Sending a Message Through Time, to name but a few.
I must admit that I’d like to re-read some of these little beauties, but I simply don’t have the time. How about you? Do you have a favorite time-related Cool Beans Blog (or any favorite Cool Beans Blog for that matter)?
