My wife (Gina the Gorgeous) just sent me a link to a video that made me happy and sad at the same time. This was created by a guy called David Scott. I’d never heard of David before. I’ll never forget him now.

From the Wikipedia we learn: “David Scott (born 1988), also known by his stage name the Kiffness, is a South African musician, producer, and parody artist who is the founder and lead singer of the band the Kiffness. Despite the band's name, Scott is referred to as the Kiffness alone.”

Before we proceed further, let me share the video in question as follows:

Just to provide some background. This all started when a woman in Ohio posted what she now admits was a false rumor on Facebook. This rumor was that Haitian migrants were eating other people’s domestic pets in Springfield, Ohio.

According to the BBC, these claims have been repudiated by leaders in Ohio. In fact, according to NBC, Ohio Governor Mike DeWine, who is himself a republican, has decried these claims as being “garbage.”

Unfortunately, people with brains who should know better—and former President Donald Trump—have happily amplified these baseless claims. Donald’s vice-presidential running mate JD Vance has also been scampering around spreading these debunked stories.

It probably comes as no surprise to anyone with a brain that the constant repetition of this garbage has led to bomb threats and school closures in Springfield.

Having said this, according to Spectrum News, “Vance says threats plaguing Springfield, Ohio, aren't caused by his and Trump's rhetoric.” Well, that’s OK then. I mean, if we can’t trust the vice-presidential candidate for the United States, who can we trust? It’s only unfortunate that, as we read in The Advocate, “JD Vance admits to making up crazy stories to get press attention and says he'll continue doing it.”

I’m shaking my head in disbelief. Are Donald Trump and JD Vance really the brightest and best that the once proud Republican party have to offer? What say you? Do you have any thoughts you’d care to share?
